Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need hiking experience?

Not at all.

Most walks are suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness. Each route has its own difficulty rating, and I’m happy to recommend the one that best matches your experience and comfort level.

How fit do I need to be?

You don’t need to be an athlete to enjoy these walks.

If you regularly enjoy walking and are comfortable being active for several hours, you’ll likely find most routes enjoyable. Before booking, I’ll help you choose a walk that’s right for you.

What should I bring?

We recommend bringing:

  Hiking shoes

  Daypack

  At least 1.5 litres of water

  Sun hat and sunscreen

  Weather-appropriate clothing

  Personal medication (if needed)

What should I wear?

Comfortable outdoor clothing and sturdy hiking shoes are recommended.

Depending on the season, you may also need a light waterproof jacket, sun protection, and a small backpack for water and personal items.

Are the walks private?

You can choose either option.

Some walks are offered as small-group experiences (minimum 4, maximum 8 guests), while others can be booked as Private Experiences designed exclusively for you or your group.

How many people are in a group?

To keep the experience personal and relaxed, group sizes are limited to a maximum of eight guests.

Are children welcome?

No.

Some routes are not suitable for families with children, while others are more demanding. Please get in touch before booking so I can recommend the most appropriate walk for families with children.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Your safety always comes first.

If weather conditions make a walk unsafe, we’ll reschedule your booking or discuss suitable alternatives.

Can you create a custom itinerary?

Yes.

If you’d like something different from the scheduled walks, I can create a Private Experience tailored to your interests, pace, and available time.

Which language do you guide in?

Walks are available in English and Turkish.

Are dogs allowed?

In many cases, yes.

Please contact me before booking so we can discuss the route and make sure it’s suitable for both you and your dog.

How do I book?

Simply visit the Multi Day Walks, Guided Walks or Private Experiences pages and send a booking request through the contact form.

I’ll personally get back to you as soon as possible to confirm availability and answer any remaining questions.

What payment methods do you accept?

Payment details will be provided during the booking process.

If you have any questions about deposits or payment options, please feel free to ask before confirming your reservation.

Do you provide airport transfers?

No.

Guests travel independently between İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport and Ödemiş using the regional train.

Before your arrival, we provide clear travel instructions together with links to the latest train timetable.

From the moment we meet you at Ödemiş Train Station until the end of your experience, all required local transportation is arranged by Walk with Ece.

What if I have dietary requirements?

If you’re joining a Multi-Day Walk and have any dietary requirements or food allergies, please let me know in advance. I’ll do my best to accommodate your needs wherever possible.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes.

Travel insurance is strongly recommended for all walks and is the responsibility of each guest.

When is the best time to walk?

Walks are available throughout much of the year, with spring and autumn offering particularly pleasant conditions. I’ll be happy to recommend the best routes based on the season and current trail conditions.

I still have a question.
